Kangana Ranaut's 2014 blockbuster Queen had the entire Bollywood as well as the audience drooling over Kangana’s panache and the title Queen became synonymous with Kangana's stature in the B-town. The movie is now getting its Kannada remake, titled Butterfly, and the project went on floors on Tuesday. The film stars Parul Yadav as the main lead while the role of her friend (Lisa Haydon in Queen) will be played by Amy Jackson.
"Really looking forward to this new chapter in my life," says Parul Yadav, whose facial expressions resembled the excitement in her words. "It's the most overwhelming feeling that I get to start this very important film of my career on my birthday. It has been a wonderful journey so far, but I am really looking forward to this new chapter that will unfold in my life," She further stated. The film will be directed by Ramesh Aravind.
Queen was directed by Vikas Bahl and starred Kangana Ranaut as Rani, who embarks on her honeymoon solo after her fiance, played by Rajkummar Rao, calls-off their wedding at the last minute. Queen won two National Awards, including the Best Actress Award for Kangana.
Butterfly's shooting began on Parul's birthday and Parul is really pleased with it, further stating, "It is a trend in the industry to launch films on an actor's birthday. However, the privilege of this honour is usually reserved solely for male actors. Now, with this film being launched on my birthday, the trend takes a different turn".
Parul Yadav's career started as a model. She then made her acting debut in 2014 with Dhanush's Dreams. She has also starred in the television show Bhagyavidhaata. Parul has recently been a part of the comedy show Comedy Ka Maha Muqabala. Others films under her portfolio include the likes of Govindaya Namaha, Killing Veerappan and Jessie.
Meanwhile, Amy Jackson was not available to comment. She will be next seen in Rajinikanth's 2.0, alongside Akshay Kumar. The two have previously worked together in Singh Is Bling.
